It is my privilege to pastor the wonderful people of Redeemer Covenant Church. When you start out in a job or calling, you don’t know where it’s going to lead. I’ve been in ministry for thirty years—much of it spent pastoring churches in the midst of transition. Some had lost their way, others were grieving tragic losses, and a couple were making major changes. Along the way, I have also served as a chaplain to the dying. While some think that is depressing, I found God alive and active every day.
Everybody has a story. Mine involves three different cultures and languages, as well as working in international travel and four years with the United Nations before following God’s call into ministry. My official training was at Boston University School of Theology (Master of Divinity) and North Park Theological Seminary (spiritual direction certificate); my unofficial training has come from countless people along the way who have shown me grace, forgiveness, courage and guidance.
My husband, James, and two grown children, Miriam and Sam, bring joy to my life. Music and books are gifts that bind us together. Besides reading murder mysteries, watching British TV, and walking our Irish Terrier, I love to travel to places with great food!
